
Paroxetine hydrochloride is the generic name of Paxil. It is an orally taken psychotropic medicine. It is available in the market in the form of tablets and oral suspensions. The film-coated pill consists of paroxetine hydrochloride equal in quantity to paroxetine as listed: 10 mg – yellow in color (scored); 20 mg – pink in color (scored); 30 mg – blue in color, and 40 mg – green in color.
The effectivity of paroxetine in the treatment of most of the depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder is took for granted to be related to synergism of serotonergic function in the central nervous system ensuing from inhibition of neural reuptake of serotonin.
